INDIAN IDOL 3

This is a blog sent by one of the bloggers, which i would like to share ( some parts
are edited by me ) : Prashant Tamang is season three Indian Idol Chmapion. After seven eventful
months in Indian Idol 3, Prashant Tamang bagged the crown of Indian Idol. Prashant
Tamang, a constable in the West Bengal police (he had to take up the job to support
his family after his father's sudden demise on duty for West Bengal Police), who
hails from Darjeeling, perhaps never thought of achieving this fame. Now he is part
of folklore. Now such is his fan base across India, and specially in Darjeeling and
Sikkim, he must not have to take up any job other than music for the rest of his
life to support his family, which includes his grand mother, widow mother and
younger sister. Along with the Indian Idol, Bharat Ki Shaan title, Prashant also has
received worth ten million (in Indian Rupees) contract from Sony. They say, truth is stranger than fiction. Tell me who ever thought this humble chap
would win the title?? Coming not from a big city or influential state,a lower middle
class mediocre, for Prashant the journey was extra difficult from the very outset. I
still remember the bully, the non cooperation he had to take in his stride in the
very first round when this girl, Richa Aneja from Punjab refused to rehearse with
him and threw tantrums. They together were supposed to perform a duet at the very
first round. In the previous night when everyone was rehearsing with their partners,
Prashant had to do his rehearsal all alone because this fussy teen girl from Punjab
was not cooperative enough. Forget rehearsing she did not even want to talk to him.
Prashant requested her several times and Richa Aneja kept on avoiding her with
insulting comments. Imagine how rude she could have been when the camera was off??
Richa, now that Prashant has become Indian Idol 3, I am sure you must be realising
your mistake.
Prashant, strangely though always lent his helping hand to Richa on so many
occasions. And when he was declared winner on Sony Television few minutes ago, I
strangely noticed that, on stage he actually shared the trophy with Amit Paul, his
competitor and best friend!! In this pretender's world, very seldom you will come
across genuine guy like Prashant.
He sings from his heart and thats important to me. He has to learn a lot, and I am
sure he will. My best wishes are with him.
Alls well that ends well.

In an interview Prashant Tamang told media persons “I thank my mother and my people.
I also thank the Calcutta police for granting me permission to participate in the
show."
Prashant says he would not mind losing out to Amit Paul, his best buddy out there.
